Troubled Waters
Troubled waters is an escape from the turbulence of navigating and understanding mental health, capturing the changeable emotions felt while witnessing a family member’s struggle. The beach is a visual metaphor for how dynamic the human mind can be, a peaceful and calm landscape, but can be treacherous. I place a camera where the tide allows, channeling this experience through self-portraiture and performance, giving an insight into the sublime landscape in which I find solace and new perspectives, recognising the need to nurture my well-being.
